eFocus Marketing is a CRM and retention strategy consultancy working inside Klaviyo for ecommerce and DTC brands. We work inside the platform, not just around it: flow and segmentation audits, deliverability management, data and catalogue reviews and migration planning for clients moving from other ESPs.
Where we help
Strategy and audits. Flow and segmentation audits, campaign and catalogue reviews, active-profile cost audits so you’re not paying for contacts you don’t need to be billed for, and deliverability checks. We start by understanding what’s actually happening in your account, not by recommending a template.
Automation and integration. Flow build and refinement across welcome, abandoned cart, browse and post-purchase journeys, Shopify and BigCommerce catalogue integration, predictive analytics setup for customer lifetime value and churn, and the CRM connections Klaviyo doesn’t do natively out of the box, including structured Salesforce data flows where a business needs them.
Training and enablement. 2-hour masterclasses on flow strategy, segmentation, testing discipline and deliverability, plus 1 and 2-day bespoke in-person workshops for teams building capability in-house, from £500 to £3,000 depending on scope and duration.
How we work
We start every Klaviyo engagement with an audit, not a rebuild: what your flows and segments are actually doing, where profiles and spend are going, and what’s genuinely underperforming versus what just looks untidy. Klaviyo is powerful enough that most of the value sits in how it’s configured, not in the tool itself, so we build strategy around your data and your customers rather than dropping in generic templates. The same applies to migrations: moving into Klaviyo from another platform is a data and process exercise as much as a technical one, and we plan it that way.
Where Klaviyo isn’t the right fit
Klaviyo is built for ecommerce, and it shows: it’s less suited to B2B, service businesses or non-transactional lists, where the segmentation and flow logic are largely wasted. It also gets expensive as your subscribed profile count grows, including contacts who aren’t actively engaging, so for smaller lists or slower-growing brands a simpler platform can be the more sensible starting point. We’ll tell you if that’s you.
Is Klaviyo good for a small ecommerce store?
Klaviyo works for stores of any size on Shopify, BigCommerce or similar platforms, but its cost scales with your subscribed profile count rather than list activity, so a very small store can end up paying for capability it isn’t using yet. It earns its keep once you’ve got the order volume and segmentation needs to justify going beyond a simpler starting platform.
How does Klaviyo compare to Omnisend or Mailchimp?
Mailchimp is the easiest starting point but limited on automation once you scale. Omnisend is a lighter, cheaper ecommerce-native alternative with multi-store support built in. Klaviyo sits ahead of both on data depth: full order, product and browse history flow into unified profiles without custom mapping, with more advanced segmentation and predictive analytics, at a higher price to match.
What can a Klaviyo consultant do that the platform’s own support can’t?
Klaviyo’s support handles product issues, not strategy. A consultant sets flow and segmentation strategy, audits deliverability and profile spend, and plans migrations properly, work that sits outside what the platform’s own team does.
Does Klaviyo integrate with Salesforce?
There’s a native integration, but it’s limited: a one-way, hourly sync of up to three Salesforce objects into Klaviyo, matched by email and tracking a single lead-conversion metric. For anything beyond basic lead capture, a proper two-way data flow needs to be built and planned around, not assumed.
What does a Klaviyo audit involve?
A structured review of your flows, segments and campaign sends, how your catalogue and customer data are actually being used, your active-profile spend versus genuine engagement, and a segment-by-segment map of where automation and personalisation opportunities exist.
Is it worth switching to Klaviyo from Mailchimp or Omnisend?
Usually yes once you’ve outgrown basic newsletters and need deeper ecommerce data and automation than either platform offers. It’s not worth it for a small list running simple monthly sends, where Klaviyo’s extra depth and cost would go unused.
