eFocus Marketing is a Dotdigital Key Accounts partner. We work inside the platform, not just around it: subscriber data reviews, automated workflow builds, segmentation strategy and Salesforce integrations for clients across retail, travel, membership bodies and financial services.
Where we help
Strategy and reviews. Subscriber Data Reviews, campaign and workflow reviews, email registration process reviews, list growth reviews. We start by understanding what’s actually happening in your account, not by recommending a template.
Automation and integration. Automated campaign workflows, Salesforce to Dotdigital integration (preference centres, suppression architecture, real-time data flows, multi-product customer records), Shopify and Magento ecommerce segmentation, and RFM or custom segmentation design, simplified when the native tooling is more complex than a client actually needs.
Training and enablement. 2-hour masterclasses on creative layout, registration process, abandoned basket planning, campaign testing and automated workflows, plus 1 and 2-day bespoke in-person workshops for teams building capability in-house, from £500 to £3,000 depending on scope and duration.
Proof, not promises
We’ve worked inside Dotdigital for clients including Ann Summers, Britvic, Castrol BP, The Royal Parks, AFME, West Midlands Trains, Greater Anglia, Getting Personal, LumonPay, This Works, Ted Baker, Ordnance Survey, Carrolls Irish Gifts, Leaseloco, PRS for Music, Mamas & Papas, Penelope Chilvers, Welsh Government and Tech Show London.
“Working with eFocus Marketing has been one of the most productive and beneficial things we have done. Working almost from scratch, they were able to give us an amazing amount of help to kick-start our email marketing channel, which has performed better than we had hoped for.” – Michaela Crawford, Social & Email Marketing Manager, Leaseloco. Result: a personalised welcome email series lifted enquiries by 400%, alongside a 20% increase in total registrations and a 6% higher conversion rate year on year.
“Working with eFocus Marketing has been hugely beneficial for Tech Show London. Offering a holistic approach, they helped re-build our email campaigns from the ground up.” – Kris White, Senior Marketing Manager, Tech Show London. Result: a 77% uplift in conversions and standout audience growth for the event, with eFocus reappointed the following year.
For Britvic, we ran a full Subscriber Data Review: mapping VIP, Active Engaged, Unengaged and Inactive segments to specific re-engagement, re-permissioning and loyalty content strategies, so campaigns are built around actual customer behaviour rather than a generic send calendar.
Where Dotdigital isn’t the right fit
We’ll tell you when it isn’t the answer. We’ve recommended Dotdigital to organisations outgrowing Mailchimp because it gives far more control over automation and segmentation. We’ve also pointed clients toward other platforms when Dotdigital wasn’t the right tool for a specific job, such as cold outreach. That’s the difference between an independent consultant and a reseller with a target to hit.
Is Dotdigital good for ecommerce email marketing?
Yes, for mid-sized and enterprise ecommerce brands that need serious automation and segmentation, not just newsletters. Its native ecommerce integrations (Shopify, Magento), RFM segmentation and multi-channel triggered journeys (email, SMS, WhatsApp) make it a strong step up from entry-level platforms, provided someone sets the strategy behind it rather than using it as a glorified send tool.
How does Dotdigital compare to Klaviyo or Mailchimp?
Mailchimp is the easiest starting point but runs out of road on automation and segmentation once a business scales. Klaviyo is strong for pure Shopify ecommerce. Dotdigital sits between the two: more automation depth and platform flexibility than Mailchimp, with stronger CRM-style data handling and cross-channel capability, which matters for brands with complex customer journeys or non-Shopify tech stacks.
What can a Dotdigital consultant do that the platform’s own support can’t?
Dotdigital’s support resolves technical tickets. A consultant designs the strategy: which segments actually matter, how workflows should trigger, what data needs to flow from your CRM, and where the platform’s native tools, like its RFM model, need simplifying or replacing for your specific customer base.
Can Dotdigital integrate with Salesforce?
Yes. We’ve built real-time API integrations that push customer and product data from Salesforce into Dotdigital for segmentation and triggered automation, including handling complex cases like customers holding multiple products or licences at once.
What does a Dotdigital subscriber data audit involve?
A structured review of your campaign inventory (manual, automated and transactional sends), the data fields you’re collecting and how they’re actually used, and a segment-by-segment map of where automation and personalisation opportunities exist, benchmarked against what good looks like on the platform.
Is it worth switching to Dotdigital from Mailchimp or Klaviyo?
Usually yes, whether you’re moving from Mailchimp or Klaviyo, once you’ve outgrown basic newsletters or single-channel ecommerce sends and need real automation, segmentation or cross-channel messaging. It’s not the right move for a small list running simple monthly sends, where the extra platform power would go unused.
